G1355 paint color

Getting ready to paint our G1355 and have a question about the color. The original paint on the grill and cab look like Oliver Clover white. Is that the correct colour or should it be the bright white used on G1000 and others? The paint codes on the MM page say the G1355 uses the same colours as the earlier tractors.

Thats a tough one but Im guessing it is the regular MM white. I have a G950 with a cab which is white and a replacement window that came with the tractor that was from an 1855 Oliver. There is a difference in the white. The Oliver window seems like it has a darker shade to it. The tough part with the 955 and 1355s who knows what was combined in the later stages of MM / Oliver.

Keep us updated, would love to see pictures of your progress, love the 1355s, is yours a diesel? And does it have a cab or is it an open station. Gonna restore mine around the 1st of the year, I'm getting exited even though I didn't use it any this fall.

Thanks for the replies. The late G1355/G955 used clover white, do you think the earlier ones with white on the hood also used clover white or MM white? I'm guessing MM white on the '73 models.

From the original brochure I have for the '73 the sides look like mm white and the grille, but the wheels look a little darker like clover white. Here's a picture, harder to see on the computer but the brochure you can sure tell.

Hi, Can you email me? I have a question about a couple parts on the G955s and wonder if you can give me some info.

Just like the 50 series tractors, and town & Country mowers, the white has a tint to it, it is in between clover white & antique white, I have yet to see anyone match the color properly on any restored tractor. the Paint group didn't get it correct either. it is not as green as Clover white, nor is it the blank/bright white that most people paint things. I also have not discovered a "proper name" for this color in company records, so it is probably just what the paint supplier provided, like during much of Oliver & MM history.

If you want to see how the two styles compare look in tractor photos. I just posted my 1974 G1355 with my earlier G955. You can see the differences in sheet metal and grill.

in the G350 I see "Cascade White" as the white paint. In Combine manuals, it's CP2 Red & Clover White, so perhaps some tractors were Clover White & some Cascade White.... The research & Learning continues......
