445 Oil Pump Swap

Last night when i went to remove the oil filter canister bolt on my 445 the bolt broke off in the housing. I have a later spin on filter style pump sitting on the shelf. Is there anyting I need to do or check to put it on instead of the old style. The the later style pump i have does not have gears. Will the gears from my original pump work in the new pump?

I was hoping someone would reply that had actually done this. I am sure it would work. I did use a R or Z pump gear set in a 206 diesel oil pump once. (Metal had gone through the pump and chipped the old gears.)

Just be sure to get your gear end clearance right.

My only problem that time was the drive gear I.D. had to be honed a bit to slide up on the diesel shaft as it was .002-.003 larger than the other shaft for some reason.
