Late M602 Instument PanelWiring

I'm giving my M602 (serial#26602764-Late 1964) a face lift and took the Inst. panals off to clean up and all the wiring harness. Do I have the right panals for this tractor. I know the key and light switch are replaced with Push-Pull swithches and no Cig. lighter but as far as I know this is pretty much how it has been since we got it in 1971. I do not have the correct manual and The Agco pages show different stuff. They are opposite and gages are positioned in different places than what I have. I use a push button to start the engine.

My wireing Harness is a little rough and taped up but I have no reason to think it ever been changed. There is brown paint on some of it. Is this typical of how it should look??? Everything was functional before it was taken off.I know it been covered here many times before but who sells a good wiring Harness replacement and the correct gages? Thanks in advance.

I will have to look at my M602 panels. I know it is different than my M5. I think the parts manual pictures might be from the M5. MM used the same manual pictures for a lot of them.

Contact Matt Gall at Motec Industries for harness. Don't have his number handy, but search name or business name in Tipton, IN and you should come up with it.

I have worked on several different M602's over the years, and they had 3 totally different gauge configurations. MM was good as changing things, there doesn't seem to ever be a "Right" way for a MM, as there is usually an exception or example somewhere.

Here is a picture of the gauge set up on my M602. From the looks of it the key switch was replaced with an IH switch. I guessing the panels were changed from what the M5s were as when the throttles were updated to this style the key switch was underneath them. Not the most convenient.

Thanks for the picture. I see what they mean about all of them being different. Mine is basically opposite and 2 gauges are with the Tachometer side. At least the choke is on the other side from the push-button start so both can be used at once. I have a M-5 manual and mine is more like that one. I suspose no one really pays much attention to these details unless they just happen to get into it like I did.cleddy

I think my M5 is more similiar to yours as the tach and two gauges are on the left. My starter button on the M5 is on the left. I agree about the starter button and choke. I was just thinking about that when I posted the picture. I think both of my M5s are the same but I will have to look.

I'm looking for the white band that goes around the grill on a m-602. Since you said you have worked on a few, I figured you may know where to look/who to ask.

Good Luck, try salvage years, they are getting like hens teeth. so many were damaged or removed & lost, now people are looking for them. I've heard that a couple guys are thinking of reproducing them, but haven't heard that anyone has, as of yet. The medallions have been reproduced in the past. Grill Band on a M670 should be the same if you find one of them.
