Sealing diesel bleed off / return line?

What does anyone use for sealing the bleed off / return line on MM diesels? I was told by the diesel shop to use pipe sealing compound which worked well on 2 of the 3 that I did but still have one (number 1 cyl) that still drips. Thank you.
 
Id try teflon tape. Be pretty much the same as your pipe compound just in a role not a liquid. And its about a buck a role. We use that for all our hoses and lines always works just dont get to tight it will crack whatever your putting it on if tou get it really tight.
