Bought a mint original 1947 UTS that has been sitting in a barn for the last 20 some years.
got it home to find four gallons of water in the crackcase and a external crack on the engine block. someone must of forgot to drain it before putting it away, and out canadian winters cause major damage when this happens. so my question is
if the cooling system was left full and it froze, what are the chances the head is shot too?
i know already the block is junk
anyone know where i can find a good std. bore Monoblock for a U
thanks

I had a good old 800 irrigation engine running one fall - and a big blizzard rolled in before I could get over to it and drain it. I was lucky to even make it to the house that day - let alone the far patch where it was...

It froze it completely solid - even froze the expansion water tank solid and blew out both ends of it - and off course cracked all the blocks, but it didn't hurt any of the heads... Pushed some freeze plugs out, but that was all.

Hopefully, you got some similar luck there...
