Old friend I would like to find an American made front wheel assist tractor of 40 or more actual drawbar horsepower. It will be for loader and some farm work. I noticed in an earlier post in the general section a mention of M-M 304. Is this a common tractor at least in some areas? Was the FWA dependable? What as to parts supply. Is the tractor usually priced at a premium. Would you know of one or any other FWA of the same vintage from possibly Colorado to eastern Ohio. North to south from Indiana would also be no problem.

The best bet is find a "yellow" Oliver such as a G-750 and hunt down a MFWD assembly from an appropriate Oliver. Expensive on both fronts but doable.

Think yor talking of a m504 and those are rare, I don't know of a 304, I'd say you'd be better off finding a 2-70, a 2-85 or 2-105 white with front assist, and it'd be cheaper and plenty over 40 drawbar hp, and there more common to have a loader than a Front wheel assist MM

The U304 is one of a kind. It would be stupid to wreck a G750 with a loader. I think there is a White 2-60 FWA with a loader on ebay right now. White also made the 100 series which make great loader tractors. Our White 100 is used daily.

I thought yours was the only one. I guess a few others thought it was a neat idea too. Is yours diesel? I was mainly making the point that a G750 or U304 would not be a good tractor to wreck with a loader. We have a few of the 8 bolt axles under G1000's and G900's and the strength of those fronts is much better for loader work.

No, mine is gas and the other 2 I have seen were also. Mine had a loader on in when I bought it, but imagine it wasn't all that handy.

We have a very nice original White 2-70 MFWD with a quick tatch loader/quick tatch self leveling bucket. 3,000 original hours and all new tires. Located in central WI and can get to Indiana. Can call or email 715-875-4577

Pretty much the same thing as a G-750 and other than scratching paint and doing the clutch once in a while would not be a bad tractor. However, the OP stated his preference for a tractor to be done up in a MM scheme thus my recommendation. Regardless of make dry clutch loader tractors are going to need routine repair for the nature of the work they do. If we are going to recommend any tractor then might just as well talk about something such as a JD 2550 or 2750 which will have the possibility of a direction reverser depending on the unit and caster-action MFWD. You can not get either of those features on a White 2-60.
