g lp sputters when reved up

I have a gtb engine running on lp with the ensign r regulator and carb. The engine seems to idle fine and run good at wide open throttle. My problem is when I go from idle to wide open the engine hessitates pretty bad and it takes a while to get to full throttle. If you ease the throttle forward slowly the engine will rev up as it should. Im not sure how the transition from idle to wide open works. Does the ecomiser have anything to do with this problem?

I might have figured it out my economizer vacuum line had a cracked nut. I repaired the line with a nylon one and it seems to run better, it still hesitates a bit, but it seems to accelerate better.

If I recall correctly, the economizer is also the main fuel adjustment. Do you have a book that tells you how to adjust the main fuel? Perhaps you need it a little richer but also beware of any vacuum leaks - like the one you may have already found.

I have the operator manual. I can copy and mail you the page on reglator and carburator adjustments if you need it. Jim@ 660-322-1045

Im not running a thermostat but it was warmed up good and running on liquid. The engine will run with the idle screw on the regulator all the way in (bottomed) which isn't right. It also has an adjustable economiser which i can't find any info on how to adjust, all the info i can find says the economiser is preset.

To ajust the economizer, remove the vacum line loosen the locknut on the economizer and rotate in or out. You have to go one full turn in either direction in order for the line to hook up again. Unless you find the absolute best adjustment is in a different position, then you will have to reshape the line. Of course the best way to do this is hooked to a dyno. under load.

I can mail you a copy of the procedure for setting the regulator, carb, including econimizer if you call me with an address. 660-322-1045. Jim
