I hope I am reading you correct. I looked on my jet as well. The + wire from the coil to that feeds the points is a good place to start this at. The #3 cylinder plug wire would go on just in from of that dist post or to the left of it on the cap if standing on that side. That would be clockwise and while going clock wise #1 then #4 then #2. The distributor turns counter clock wise and this post reads a little strange but hope this gives some kind of point to start.
