I'm curious of the availability of water temp and oil press gauges for a 670 super and the light transformer. It looks like mine originally came out with electric sensors (as noted from the wire harness) even though my serial number is before the change. I have not checked the transformer yet, but the housing is cracked leading me to believe the magic smoke has escaped. What voltage would I look for? FYI... My tach, amp meter and gas gauge all work, so I would like to complete the set if I can.

Funny we both posted gauge questions a few minutes apart. Both temp and oil pressure gauges available from AGCO dealer along with water temp sending unit. I don't think they are OEM though. The transformer is not available. I talked to a place that restores gauges called JC Auto Restoration Inc. They have pics on their site of a set they restored, and they look like new. When I asked about price he said he had just done a set that needed a lot of work including new faces and it ran about $900 for the whole set. That's a little more than I can spend. The gauges from mrbillsmolines look ok, but as you can see from my post I'm having issues. Hope this helps a little.

I noticed our postings were pretty close as well. Not sure why there seems to be no help out there??? Maybe we are on double secret probation. Lol maybe this topic has been talked to death before, but I missed it. I have purchased things through AGCO before, only to find out that there was superior products available through other sources. Just hoping to have some options. Steiner has those gauges available as well, but I feel certain they do not use the transformer. Probably not the end of the world.

The only replacements that I have ever seen are the ones Scout mentioned. I havent been into them that much so Im not much help.

I gave scout2008 a lot of good info about the gauges yesterday when I spoke with him. The gauges from Agco are not OEM. The three gauges that you have that work are the most common ones that do work. I have replaced several temp and oil gauges, new NOS ones are non existent and when they show up on Ebay they fetch a premium price. The transformer is AC voltage around 250 volts AC. Test it on the bench with a DMM. It must be grounded to work, and you should have an output EMF of over 200 volts.

Thanks joe... That is what I was looking for. Any guesses why MM thought this was a good idea??? Since the gauges from AGCO are not OEM, do they still use the 250v transformer, or do they just use normal back light?

I"m sure they just use a 12v light bulb. If you"re going the agco route you"re going to spend way to much money for the same thing that you can get at NAPA for $20.
