I bought an ugly old 602 that had not ran in a few years. Put some fuel in it and the gauge leaked. Tightened the screws and all is well. I have a 4 star that has held its fuel forever and the other day it started hissing out around the gauge. I barely even put the screwdriver on the first screw and it broke off... It is still leaking down with hopes of drilling. Proceed with caution. Jeff

Thanks for the response. I thought about trying to tighten them. I MIGHT get the courage to tap on the bolts with the big brass drift and try tightening them. Such a small thing yet also a big problem...

I bought an old 670 that leaked. I hit it with that freeze penetrating oil, let it soak, hit it again. Two dyas later, I tried it and it came out without any trouble.

Thanks for the advice. I did happen to get by easy on this one. I got brave tonight and tried to tighten them and they snugged down easily they were a little lose. I was surprised and felt better. Not sure if when I get down with it this fall take it apart and replace it or consider it a not broke don"t fix it thing and leave well enough alone..
