Have looked at one of the main bearings so far on my M5. It has the numbers "6 66 L" Then has "MB 1632 B" and has "Cleavite". Im wondering if they are standard bearings yet. The pistons have 10A10560 on them (parts book says it is supposed to be 10B10560) that is a standard piston number. Is there a way to check the Clevite number to find out what they are? They usually mark a crankshaft if it has been ground down but I didnt find any marks that it has.

Don't know about Cleavite bearings but are you able to get a measurment on Crank Main or Rod journals. My manual says 2.911"-2.912" dia. on both and look for taper or out of round. If it is small then somethings either been done or happened. Mine was .032 small and rough on back rod journal but otherwise fine on rest. How have your bearings looked so far???

All my bearings were wore until copper was showing so that was only a matter of time for a total engine failure.

Pistons should be stamped on top if they are oversize which mine were already .040" over size.cleddy
