need some advise wanting to build a U, 6 inch stroke or more but our rules only allow stock blocks and no spacer plates can give email to someone if not wanting to divulge info for the masses seen plenty open tractors but not so many farm stocks set up need to do something different getting left behind

not much you can do with stock blocks unless you spend big money for the ones they casting now that look stock.

What you can do depends on your bank account. It is possible to go near 700ci using stock jugs ; but requires a lot of machine shop work and "custom" built parts to get it to fit in the stock appearing engine. getting 400 plus inches the easiest is: 403 crank offset ground to 283 rod---custom piston with a pin setting to get correct height for short jug---336 jugs can be bored to 4.75 and more (336 jug is listed in M&W chart as big bore overbore for a U ) GOOD LUCK

i dont think you can get 5.5 or 5.75 bore out of a stock U jug.i have heard of some being cut out and a sleeve welded in them but i wouldnt want to take that chance. you can get the casted juggs that look like the U jugs and get them machined for the big bore. that is 4 to 5 thousand i have heard when finished.
