M602 Bracket

I've been working on my engine starting with a crankshaft, bearings, rings, new heads, valves re-ground,clutch,radiator, and about anything else from transmission forward and since it was so accessable I've been cleaning and painting with dyna-brown paint as it goes back together. Just about ready to get the front back on the back now.
I have this old bracket that came with the tractor and bolts across on the front end just in front of the fan belt. We never knew what it was and threw it in the scrap but if anyone can tell me what it is for maybe I should paint it and put it back on. Any ideas??

I used to have a front mount cultivator that was on an M602, but never saw one of the brakets.

That bracket was on one of our 5 stars. It holds up the outer ends of a 4 row cultivator. It worked just like it was designed to . Do not throw it away! clint

Finally, something I know! I have a 602 (propane) with that same cultivator bracket and have used it many times with my front mount 4 row cultivator.

Do you have any pictures of your 602 with the cultivator on? Ive only seen pictures in literature.

Not that I know of...... We haven"t had it mounted in 10 or so years, but when I go back to row crops, I"ll have to dig it out......

I am not sure what brand of front mount it was. It may have been a Massey, since that was what Dad started farming with.

I"ll keep an eye out for pictures and if I find one, I"ll post it.

Thanks for all the replies. I would like to see a picture of that also. We used a 4-row Allis-chalmers cultivator which had a square tube across the front(Bent Square tube after farmerized) and tie rods up near the top corners of the radiator. I ended up with 1/2" x 2" steel frames on the front of all the tractors with drawbars welded on to push wagons and strong enough to carry a 110 gallon fiberglas tank. No wonder all of this stuff is kind of beat up??cleddy

My 4 Star Super has a similar bracket that came with the 4 row cultivators. I think these brackets were only used on the later cultivators that had solid mounting bars instead of hollow tubes.
