Ru seat question

My dad has my grandpas old ru that is super sharp and totally restored. The only problem is that I would like to get some ideas on changing the seat so that it is easier for him to get on and off. He has a bad neck and has to be careful with turning too sharply. Also...at 75 it's best to be careful anyway. Would also like to know what anyone may have done to modify the hand clutch to be able to use with minimal forward body movement. Any thoughts and or pics would be great. Thanks to all and any ideas.

I would think it would be easy enough to make a bolt on bracket for the clutch lever to extend it back, not sure about the seat.

Depends on what kind of seat you have. Pre-1951 the seats were boxy-type with a seatback, succeeded by a pan-type seat with no back, mounted on a Flote-Ride base. I assume yours is the older type.
