mm u stuck in reverse

i took my minn u out to level gravel took it out of reverse then put it in 2nd gear and it stayed in reverse it wont go in any other gear than 3rd but it stalls the motor out how do i fix this

When you shifted out of reverse the shift fork slipped back to reverse after you moved the lever to the side therefore the lever is not in the reverse shift rail where it should be when in reverse. This usually occurs when shifting quickly. See if you can see the rail through the small cover on the right rear of the trans cover (I don't think you can though) If you can see it the rh rail needs to be shifted to the rear to put it back in neutral. If you can't get to it that way you will have to remove the trans cover in order to put the shift rails back in neutral. Good luck.

What Cliff says is all too true. However I have made myself a special tool that works down through the trans fluid fill opening to shift that rail back in place without taking the cover off. Take the small three cornered fill plate off, get a small light in there and study the situation. I would take a picture of the tool but I lent it out to a friend and he says he can,t find it. I have to make another one. Also I don't have it patented yet, Ha
