Picked up a MM motor. First power unit I have seen. Not common in this area. It was on a big winch. Motor is 283-4 sn 02301959. Block number is 10A1700. But what's different about it manifold has FE number. It has GE30E heads, a Bosch mag and a Zenith carb. Did these gas motors come with these components? Suspect motor is mid fifties.

GB IT IS A NINETEEN FIFTY THREE SORRY MY KEYBOARD IS SCREWED UP NO SMALL LETTERS OR NUMBERS OR PUNCTUATION MARKS

We had an American brand double drum hoist that had that engine in it. I know that it was slightly different from regular farm tractor engines. The thermostat for one thing was much different - - and expensive!
Also a different carb. Don't know details like serial number or casting numbers, but was about the same vintage.

Power Units often used different Carbs than tractors. Several parts books, so optional carbs for power units. I would have to dig in to manuals for specifics, but playing catchup after a busy week.
