There are many UTSD's in Turkey. the -M is Military, often confused with UTSD.

As far as I can tell ALL tractors shipped to Turkey were knocked down & Assembled there, just as the units to Greece, Iran, Spain, France, South America, etc.

According to the Book, Turk Traktor Tarih - 1954-1997. published by Turk Traktor Co.

MM UTSD Production.
1955 - 815 Pieces
1956 - 250
1957 - 137

There is a note that total of 1205 UTSD were produced in Turkey (3 unit disparity from yearly count). Theses were all Knocked-down units assembled there. Not until the 445, did they start adding Turkish built components that differed from US Production (with exception of Fuel Pump on the U's)

1958 Production switched to 445T.

there is a photo on page 36 of book with at least 15 UTSD's taken in front of factory.

I have also seen other photos of multiple UTSD's in Turkey. A close friend of the family was in Turkey as a child, as her father was the MM Rep overseeing the MMTT project.

According to one note I have, those are all UTSD-M (M indicating "Modified"), just as the GTMD for Greece (GT "Modified" Diesel) At a quick look, I don't see any other prefix for MMTT UTSD's. as they were commonly reffered, the "M" was not used, except perhaps on the serial Tag. on 108 prefix.

I do have another note indicating that some of Prefix 050 went to Turkey. If only we had Ledgers for Turkey showing each tractor.

Could it be possible the 1205 went to Turkey with 050 number? Remember the rear housing would be shipped with tag. Similar to when U diesel chassis were shipped to Britain and repowered with the Meadows and Dorman motor. They maintained the U diesel serial right?

the British U Diesels, were much older, predating any US Built Diesels. Totally different Tractor, especially the Rear end. The MM Turk Traktors, were Modern for the late 1950's, not old technology, or parts being used up. Both the US Government & Turkish Government Had money in the MMTT project, so I'm certain current & modern technology was a requirement.
