UTSD piston swap

Will the piston skirt clear the crankshaft on a U Diesel when installing pistons from a G900?
The lower side of the wrist pin bore is approx 3/8" higher on the 4.375" G900 pistons than the 4.250" UTSD pistons.

I don't think you would get high enough compression. Why not use GV1,GBD, or Massey 95 pistons? That's what I use in My U diesels.

T Wall,
I used new std bore G900 pistons in my UBED with no problems. Talked with Welters and they said it was the only option at the time. Basically put 1/8" overbore pistons in my UB diesel. Stroke is the same between U and G900. Slightly higher compression sure helps the U start easier and its a lot snappier now too.

BMG1, Did you utilize the U cylinder head gasket, or did you use one from a G900? Thanks for the help!
Tom

Tom,
I ordered everything from Welters so they sent me the gaskets I would need with the G900 pistons. It was about 7 years ago and I can't even remember if they were the two piece gaskets or one piece.

I have 4 good UB diesel pistons that are +.030. I'll sell the set for $100 plus shipping. They're still on the connecting rods, I'll sell them that way too if you're interested. I'd be more than happy to send pics.
