UTS rear end fluid

I believe they originally came with 140w, some places you can still get it, but I think mostly 80-90w or 85-140w would be easier to find and should work ok. I know in the ZA manual it mentioned about thinning the rear end oil with kerosene for winter operation and then draining and replacing with 140w in the spring.

I just bought 15 gallons of 85-140 for my utn and 30wt low ash for propane engine.
They are Acalia (sp) brand from CIH.

I filled my UTU with 85W90 about 10 years ago - it seems to work fine.

The stuff in the rear end when I got the tractor was extremely stiff - almost a solid. In colder weather the shift lever was impossible to move until the engine had run 5 - 10 minutes with the clutch engaged. Replacing it with 85W90 eliminated the problem, and the transmission still runs nice and quiet.
