10A4232 and a 336 - 93 Pump Gas?

I picked up a nice low hour late 336 engine with 10A4232 heads. Someone had put a carb on the LP manifold to start it. There's a clean M5 in the parts row just waiting for the chance to use this engine for pulling and in the field. This is a bit to high of compression for 87 octane. I've assumed 92-93 octane would work fine in the field. We all know what happens when we (I) assume. Anyone actually worked this setup (aside from LP gas)?

I'm running a 670 Super gas with 4232 heads in the field but I put a 0.100 aluminum shim under the blocks to drop the compression a bit. It has been running that way for a few years & have been plowing & running a 20 ft woods batwing with it & running regular gas.

I have a U with 4232 head, 336 jugs and 336 propane manifold. It likes 117 octane racing fuel. 240 lbs. compression.
