minn. moline grain drill

Hell, i have a minn. moline grain grill i don't know what model but ill post pictures. I have 20 acres worked up to plant oats. there is no chart un the box, i can select anything form 1 to 75, 75 being all the way open. so does any one have a chart, or can tell me how to calibrate it.

The numbers and noches on the quadrent won't do you much good. because there is so much lost motion in the linkage. The most accurate way to set is to take 3/8 to 1/2 inch key stock and place it in the housing above the seed tube between the end of the flute and housing to measure the width of the opening. If you move the lever back and forth empty you will see what I am talking about. If the lever moves easy it will more than likely change going through the field. You may have to wire the levers in place once you get it set. Fill the drill level full, make one round. Measure what it takes to refill, caculate the amount of ground traveled and amount of seed used. Reajust to desired amount. Be sure you lap your wheel track into the previous pass or you will have a gap in the crop. Usually you have to run the tire in the second disc mark.
