Uni-tractor

What is the model desination for the Uni-tractor? Does anyone know how many were made? Is it rare? I've never seen one before last week. I'm going to try to rescue it from the scrapyard.

There were several MM Uni"s, then the line was sold to New Idea, made up to about 1990. They are not "rare", but as with anything older, they are getting more scarce.

1st side valve v-4 - 206 c.i. - Model "L"
2nd OHV v-4 206 c.i. - also Model "L"
3rd "Brown Mule" with inline 206 engine.

there were some experimentals with larger MM engine, I"ve heard of some 283"s & 336"s.

As far as production #s, probably higher than most people would guess. All together about 9,000 were built combined for both styles. They rank fairly high on the production # list of all MM tractors built. U, G, R, Z, Jet Stars, 4 Stars, and a couple others had higher #s. The later Brown ones come in at 1,632 minimum, because there are units out there that have higher serial #s than any published list indicate. The model L (three wheel) were by far the most common. Scrapage has taken a severe toll. The brown ones very suseptible to being parted out for engines and other components
