Looking good Tony. Being that I'm not familiar with MM's, in the rearview pic, what is that right below the left axle? Looks like steps, but then again maybe pedals of some kind?

Twostepn2001,
Those peddles are the turning breaks. They use to have them on each side but in 52'I believe they went to one side only.

Molinegb,
Thanks for heads up! I would love to find a working hour meter. However, I have never been a big fan of the belt pully look. Maybe I just missed the pully era.( born 1945)
The only tractor on our ranch with a pully was a 1945 Farmall H, So out of my six restorations guess which one has the belt pully lol

Where I am in Canada everything had a belt pulley. Mainly used for crushing grain. I have hourmeter on bench but it only runs for a while then quits. Seen quite a few hourmeters usually on early 50's U and especially U diesels.

Thats a good idea of using copper for the water lines for the vaporizer. I have a utu lp and I am in the process of getting it going again. I brazed one water line and they are getting pretty thin. I was thinking about using rubber hydraulic hose, which wouldn"t look very good.

Nice pics! I do have one comment. Are you sure you want to use copper on the lp hi-pressure side (between the tank & vaorizor)? I would think that lp pressure could get higher than that out in the sun. What is the safety relief valve on the tank rated for? May be fine, just wanting to be safe.

I had not realized there was special copper tubing for refrigeration work. Most stationary tanks use a 250 pound safety valve. That old tractor may have had a 200 pound valve. Lookin good.

Dennis p.,
Thanks for heads up I reasearched it and was advised to use Refergeration grade copper tubing which is rated at 700 PSI.
All of it is of this grade with double flare.
Thanks, Tony

Shinnery,
Thanks for comments. Yes, there is a heavy duty copper tubing for Refergeration,Natural Gas,L.P.Gas,water. This tubing I put on is all rated at 700 psi.& double flared.
As for tank pressure. My tank was made in 52 and is rated at 200 lbs w.p.However, my propane co. said that certain tanks manufactured in a certain time frame was tested at much higher w.p. and mine happen to fit the criteria so they were legal to work on it . They put on all the new valves and pressure tested and gave me a reciept stating that it conforms to dot. rules.
I am feeling pretty safe .I also have a L.A. Case & SMTA on propane restored in 2007&08 trying to learn all I can. All my relatives & neighbors, old timers that used propane in their day, are gone, so its been a learning curve.
