Cast front wheels with rims

Has anyone ever had a problem trying to get the rims off of the old cast front wheels like on my 38 uts? They fit very tightly anyway but sitting for decades they are impossible to move. Tried WD40 for a year, now heat with a torch and still won't budge using a sledge and blocks under rim. I hate to cut them off. Anyone else ever encountered a problem like this? Thanks for any help.

Here are some pictures of the beast. Just won't come apart.

FM-M Is there any way that you can get them in a hydraulic press? With proper blocking a press should be able to seperate the boogers.

I had the exact same problem on my 1939 Z. They were a pain. Lots of WD-40 and we ended up using a block of wood and a sledge hammer to get them apart.

I know what you are going thru. I had the same prob. with a GTA 40 yrs ago. I gave up on the project.Took the whole thing to the tire store. They were not happy. One sugestion to you,Use some "DeeP Creep" or Kroyil penn. oil , It works wonders for me now. clint

My Kroyil can went empty trying to loosen the engine of this old gal so I'll have to get another one and try it on the wheels too. I was thinking of taking it to the tire store and mount the tires on it that way but that would make a shabby restoration doing it that way. One rim isn't the best so I might need to find a better one. Rear 32"rims aren't too good either but do have some better tires anyway.

Had similar problems on a GT. Used air chisel on inside along with WD 40. The vibration shook the rust out. Tractor is a 1938-mid 39.
