Thank you all for the comments. After considering them, I contacted a company that specializes in sheet metal restoration in our area. They advised they could repair it ready for paint for around $200.00. I think that's probably fair enough. The tractor is a wide front with serial number 18200021 which, I assume, makes it a 1960 model and the 21st 4Star Diesel made. After reading some other posts, I was hoping that it was a super because it has the chrome strip on top with the chrome V, but as I read further, it appears that the chrome and V were common to all 4 Stars. Since I bought it in pieces, I sure hope I have them all. Thanks again for your comments.

Brad,
From my research it appears there were no 4 Star Super diesels. It looks like all 97 made were regular 4 Stars. Supers are called out for gas and LP tractors but none for diesel. A Super would also have a separate speedometer below the tach where your's says "Moline". That's a valuable tractor well worth investing in a nice restoration. Good luck!

Brian

Can you post a picture of it? I believe the Supers had the Tach and Speedometer, and the fenders were crown fenders like the M5s. Still is a nice rare tractor, Super or not....

OK, here are a few pics I hope. It has been under a tarp since I've owned it and I covered the engine with foil and a storage container as the tarp started getting holes in it after a few years. It does have the tach/speedometer but doesn't have the M5 fenders. Tag just says 4 Star. I wonder if supers said 4 Star Super?

I think the 4 Stars had the word Super on the 4 Star decal, but not sure what the tags said on them. What year is it? (yes 2013...lol...I mean the tractor.. :)

Alan,

I will try and get a picture of it and post it. That is something I need to learn how to do anyway.

If you look just below "Preview your Reply" button there is an "Upload photo" button..if you click on that, browse your computer for the photo, usually in "jpeg" format, select it and then select upload and dont forget to click continue after the photo appears, then click the preview your reply button...and it should appear...

I would think the sheetmetal is the least of your problems. 206D motors are very hard to find parts for. Been there done that!
