Main drive bevel pinion locking washer MM 705

Should the locking washer behind the adjustment nut on a 705 main drive bevel pinion have teeth (serrations on the inner edge)? I know you bend the outer edge over the adjustment nut to lock it but I also think it might have teeth that engage with the splines on the end of the shaft to prevent everything rotating. Any help welcome as I think I need to try making a new one (there are no MM dealerships in Scotland uk). Any pictures would also be useful.
Thanks
Bill

If you mean the lock washer for the pinion nut for the ring and pinion set it is part number 10A5568 and it does have teeth.
