I have my 504 running pretty well. The back rocker assembly seems to have a squeaking. I have looked at the heads and they seem to be oiling. But the back one seems to squeak. What could the problem be? |

| | I am not familiar with the 504, it would seem to me that if you have oil up to the rocker shaft and one is still squeaking its probably a clogged rocker shaft. They sometimes fill up with sludge and plug the oil holes to the rocker arms. On the U series and 206 series rocker shafts you could take the plugs out of the ends, disassemble and clean everything and they would go back to oiling. (Putting the rockers, stands and spacers back in the same order.) I am not familiar with the 504 so I don't know if they are similar or not. |

| Thanks for the help. I will take it apart and make sure all is clear. It looks like oil is going to all the rockers but I will make sure. I am still working to get things worked out on this tractor. I am getting it back in order I think. I took the oil bath apart and the mesh is giving me fits. Since this tractor is to be used I want a good servicable cleaner on it so I am getting ready to adapt a dry cleaner from a G1000 on this thing. I do like things original but sometimes that is not easy. |
