American Bosch PSB fuel injection pump question

How do I turn the fuel up on a PSB fuel pump on a UB moline? Or can you steer me to a manual on for the pump on the web.

Thank you for the reply. I have been studying this manual before I asked the question and I couldn't find anything in there on adjusting the fuel supply.
Any other suggestions?

I would say to create a way to shut it down if it runs away with you, block off the air or something. Then turn the screw about a half turn and see how it runs, keep trying that until it runs the way you want it to. I have never tried adjusting my M5-D, yet.

On the top of the pump, there's a cover held down with 4 bolts, take that off. You shouldn't need to remove the fuel line to the injector head, and be careful not to loose the little spacers under the back 2 bolts. You may need to take the shut down cable off at the pump however. Under that cover you'll see a slider held down with 2 screws. Loosen those and push that slider forward as far as it will go. Tighten it down and reassemble. If you want more rpm, that's equally as easy, just let me know. Good luck and have fun!! Just for kicks, here's a picture of mine. (yes its running a PSB pump)

did this give you alot more power too? or just a good show.. i got a g6 i wana crank up but didnt know how and couldnt find any info on the web really happy you posted this!

It gave noticeably more power, but increased fuel isn't all you need to do. I'm running the PSB pump, but it has a larger head and you'll need to advance the timing, the injectors were worked, and this engine made its best power around 1800-2000 rpm, although we ran it to 2800 or so. Dad had it on a dyno years ago and was claiming 70 HP.

Where did you have your Pump reworked along with the bigger head? I have a GTBD that I put 504 blocks on the 425 motor and I wish it smoked like that. I had my pump redone and I have the slider all the way foreward just like the instructions on here said but it hardly smokes at all even under a heavy load.

My pump already had the bigger head on it, thanks to my Dad, some 25 years ago. I had Fair Valley Performance in Sauk City, WI go through it and the injectors though. (608) 643-0200. I think (not sure) they can get a bigger head for your 6 cylinder, and if not, your next step is a Roosa-Master, which will need a bigger head that I know for sure they can do. They did one for my G705 diesel, and it now smokes like the UB in the picture. The advantage to the roosa-master is the fuel and timing is adjustable at the pump, rather than having to take a bunch of stuff apart. You will need to find a core pump off of a MM diesel though, due to they are left hand rotation.
