problems getting 705 lp started.

I tried to get it started today. At first it sounded like it wanted to fire and I got some flames out of the exaust. Then nothing at all like it was not getting any fire period. All new plugs wires cap roter points condensor. Unless I have it backwards I am pretty sure I have the firing order right as far as where they go on the cap. I am not familiar with the lp fuel systems even though I have had a 930 lp for several years. never had the need to work on them. I am going to check out the timing again, maybe I have something backwards. And I am only turning on the vapor. I have a brand new Century M6 on there. Any advice??

I got it to try to fire this evening after priming and some smoke but would not take off. I am begining to worry that I did not get the flywheel in the right position on the crank. The rotor is pointing slightly to the rear when on TDC and both push rods loose. I read in the manual about priming it while cranking? Should I wire up the electric primer? I am getting frustrated with this.

If you did get the flywheel on out of position, it will not cause any problems. You can still rough set the timing by rotating the engine until anyone of the pistons comes up on TDC of the compression stroke (which can be seen looking throught the spark plug hole). You then rotate you distributor to just be openning the points for that cylinder. Install the wires onto the distributor cap based on the firing order and direction of rotation of the rotor and it should be close enought to at least run.
