G705 pics and also a question

The inside the shed pics are dark, it was late and I don't have much for lights. The plug wires need to be shortened I know. Also how rare are cabs for these? I would like to find a good cab for this thing. II will take the rear fenders ect off and repaint all of that when time lets me.

Looks like you're coming along good. I'll try to post a couple of pics of how the LP regulator should be mounted from a G705 I used to own. Looks like you have the brackets, but it would clean things up if it was hooked up directly to the mixer. I think the plug wires were originally hooked to hangers bolted to the inside edge of the hood, but the two I have now look more like yours. I wouldn't mind having a cab myself, but it seems a lot of them have been scrapped. I had a Gvi with a cab, and it sure was nice on the cold plow days. Keep up the good work!

I may know where there is a cab if either of you are interested. (its not mine). Its in SW Minnesota..where are you located?

That is NICE. Looks like brand new. Now I feel the need to get mine cleaned up and painted even sooner!! I thought about mounting the new regulator back inside but the M6 has slightly different demensions. I might change it in the future.

I would like to find one but I am down in northern OK. Thanks for the response though. I might find one in up in KS.

When I bought our G705, the first thing I wanted to do was dump that ugly cab off. Didn't have time right away, so it stayed on, and the longer it stayed on, the more it grew on me. Now I think the cab adds so much character to the tractor, it really makes it cool. Instead of stripping it apart to build a puller, we've made it into our parade/ club ride tractor. The club we're in drives them everywhere, I'd guess we put almost 200 miles on the old gal last summer. What a blast, and many times I was thankful for that cab! Still, I couldn't resist the urge to drop the hook on it a few times LOL!

Hey toolz, how'd you make out on the 605 in the GVI? Was it governor or fuel or what? Did it pull like it should've?

Yes I like open station also. I would not put a cab on if it took much drilling ect to sheetmetal and so forth. I agree the cabs are very good. Cold wind and protection from dust are good reasons for sure. Alot of guys don't like a water cooler but they are cool enough for me. I will put one on there if I find a cab.

Why put a cab on? They came from factory with no cab. So to put a cab on would make them not original. Opions.

Ted- After that Casey pull, I checked it over a little better. Timing was at 40 degrees. Set it back to 25, and she woke up. Out of 8 pulls I won 5, with two 2nds and a 3rd. If the operator knew how to drive, it may have won more. Was in 4th at 9 mph a couple of times. Got a few little things to do, but real happy with it so far.

The cab on mine looks like it just sets down between the fenders and bolts to the platform. All of the GVI, G705 and similar models were factory open station. The cabs are not made by Moline either. You shouldn't have to take the fenders off or do any butchering. At most, you should only have to drill mounting bolt holes. I can take some pictures and send them if you'd like.

I have a cab off a G900 that fits in between the fenders. I"m not positive it will fit. It is 42.5 inches wide.

Its not my tractor, but I am pretty sure the G900 cab would not work. The G900 is a row crop and you would enter the tractor in front of the left rear wheel. The G705 is a whetaland tractor, and you enter from the rear.

I was thinking it would be a different cab. I am doubting I will find one really. Seems all the tractors have been thrown away. "Scrapped" I say thrown away because for what machinery costs to build, scrap is the same as throwing it into the trash. Sorry for the rant!!! And thanks for the response!!

Pics would be interesting if they are not trouble to get. Who made your cab? Egging and Meade made cabs for Case and I am sure others. Shame all this has been scrapped. Perfectly good tractors. This was big time MM country we had big dealers here and now they are nearly non existant. I have to get parts from a long ways away. Better than the alternative though. I am doing the best I can for not having parts around close.
