This G705 was in the YT ads, about an hour from me. Seller wanted an IH H and a plow I had, so we traded. It"s LP, but converted to gas. All the LP parts came with it, so I"ll change it back. Don"t like dealing with gas since my stuff doesn"t get used much. Tractor is real straight, and the fenders are mint. Engine sounds good, as well as the trans/rear. Rubber covers still on the clutch and hydraulic levers. The guy only owned it about 2 years, but he believes the hours at 1400. Don"t know about that, but it"s not beat. No serial tag. Has splined axles, so not a "65. Don"t know how else to tell the year. I am missing the LP filter and tee fitting, so if anyone has one, I"d be interested. Also need a pair of single bevel 34" rims at 18-20" wide to mount up a pair of 20.8-34s. |

toolz - looks like a nice 705. If in the future you need any valves, filler fittings , etc. for the l.p. tank give me a call. I have most of the stuff on hand. A lot of times an older tank that has sat empty for some time will have a few leaky valves , etc. Be more than happy to help if I can. cell no. 815/499/8708 --Dean--

mr tools,i traded that tractor for a 310 cse dosier he had back in may of this yr. i was the one who changed it to gas, because in my area propane dealers dont fool with small setups that i would need to fuel that mm.the front tire i picked up at local consignment sale.didnt see the gas tank, which was a military oval tank, with a wood part for front tank mtg,as a template. i am shore glad to see someone that will restore it an use it the way it was intended.i believe the tractor came from kansas orginaly,at least that was were the fellow told me he got it from. my email is open. dan

1206- The little H was a good one- new rear tires, straight, and other new parts, so it had some value. Also gave him a real good #16 IH 4 bottom plow. He was asking 2K, and I figured my stuff was worth around $1800, so I threw in an extra $100. Not a steal, but I'm happy with it. I'll have some fun with this one, but the H and plow were just sitting around.

That sure is a nice one. I wish I could find another. It is bad that so many of these have been scrapped. All the good machinery is being destroyed. I live in north central OK big time MM country and now I have to wonder how many G705s or GVIs ect still exist in Kay county. They are nearly all gone here and we had big dealers in the 50s 60s for MM.

R- I'm with ya there. All 3 of my MMs (G706D, G706LP, and this one) would have been considered scrap by many people. It's just not that hard (or expensive) to get them up and running. Parts are out there. My '65 G706LP is one of 20 made that year- how many are left? Would have hated to see it go to China, and it was close. I guess it's good that some of these cheap ones are available so poor folks like me can enjoy them!

Yes these machines are very important to me because without them I could not afford equipment. I have spent alot working over that 705 and it is cheap comapred to the alternative. If it keeps me out of debt, it's value is great. Scrapping tractors like these and imnplements is simplying throwing a LARGE sum of money into the trash.

A very good looking 705. Good that it is saved from the junker guys. I had 11.00 " single rib tires on a 4520 and other tractors . The saved a lot of wear on the brakes as they "dug in" when turniing in loose dirt. Worked good on a UTU and mounted corn picker on slippery, muddy hillsides. You will like them on the 705. clint

I think I saw this one a few months back over by Bloomington, Illinois. He had it on the local craigslist ads for months. I could not settle on a cash price with the owner, but im very glad to hear it found a good home if this is the same tractor I am thinking of. Most the MM I find around Illinois seem to be utility tractors or old letter series. Good luck with your new find, Art.

Looks good. I think you can tell the year from the engine tag if you can read it. There are some serial list that give the engine numbers.
