G705 hyd filter part number

I bought a Napa 828 filter for my 705 this summer. I am getting very close to firing it up. Anyhow I took the old filter out tonight and I see the filter is much longer and also biggeri n diameter than the Napa 828. I only see one hyd filter listed for the 705. After looking at the archives it looks like my filter is obsolete? Would there be any reason I could not just plumb in an inline filter?

I just went to wixfilters dot com and looked up a G705 and it came back as WIX 51828 the NAPA # should be 1828. The G707 calls for the same number. Is this the same as 828? I don't know if this helps any or not.

Thanks for taking the time to look. Yes that is the same one as the Napa 828. When I went to Napa to get the 828 filter he told me that was the same one as the 51828. I sure need to get this figured out I am anxious to get this thing running.

I changed the hyd filter on my 705 a couple of years ago. NAPA said it was discontinued I believe, so I called a AGCO or what ever they are called now, it was discontinued there too, but he shearched other dealers inventories and I did find one, several states away. Maybe a call to Welters will get you a filter.

From what I found looking in the G705 parts book. Filter part number 10A20301 which subs to W10A20301. I believe this tractor is the same has a Massey 97 and in that parts book it shows Massey part# 1024683M91. Can"t find cross number for Wix. I"ll have to check if these are good numbers yet through Agco.

Thanks guys. I will call them tomorrow. If the element is obsolete I think I better figure out how to put an inline filter in.

there was a post a wile back on this very thing a guy came up with a way to use that filter check back through the posts it was a while ago

Thanks for all the help. Checked today and everyone says obsolete for that filter. I searched the archives but could not find the one for adapting the 1828 filter I am interested in that. I bought an inline filter at Napa and I think I see where I can install it in the return. I am going to take that entire unit apart and cleant all up and flush out the tank. I think this will work out nice.
