How good of a tractor are they? Have ta problems? Im looking at a diesel one with a 3pt.
Would one of these work well enough for a 7' flail mower and a 6' brush hog?

Hows fuel consumption?

The 602 diesel should be a decent tractor. The amplitorc could be a problem, but that goes for most MM's. The oil needs to warm before you put the TA in low range. Not doing so, can cause it to slip, and over time, wear out. The tractor should have about 65 pto hp.

I would be happy to answer more questions

The 602 can be a decent tractor relevant to its general condition. The A/T dash panel decal and manual say to warm it up first. Not an issue in the southern US but what about the northern 2/3rds of the country. It can never warm up in the winter. In reality WARMING it up doesn't make sense. What needs to be done is to drive the tractor around for awhile in high range. Lack of lubrication is what hurts them, and the ONLY way they lube. is via splash, throwing oil around to this top shaft which lies above the fluid level. Keep it wet and all is well.

Yes, I meant drive the tractor in high range for a while. Thats what I usually do. Never any TA problems with the tractors that were bought new and taken care of. Now some of our used MM's had TA problems before we got them.

Yah, you are so right, most A/T issues are/were self induced sometime in the tractors life. We rebuild many of these units and can easily see why they are what they are. Still these are easier and cheaper to repair than some other brands, Dale and Doug, River Dale Farms.
