I have to check my one M5 with a gauge as well. If the early M670's are the same set up I do have a shop manual on one so I will look in there too. Yes those IT manuals are...somewhat helpful...at times, but dont cover everything the way they should. |

| Had a M5 doing the same thing. On a factory recall they had put a steering shaft holder on the rod to the worm gear. It had locked up and wasn't letting the steering shaft work in and out to activate the trigger on the power steering valve. It would let it move one way but not enough the other way. |

| Just wanted to add..I know if the steering knuckle doesnt slide on the splines that affects it as well. It seems like there are alot of things to add up to getting it to work properly....but there are so many... I suppose that is why they put the extra steering shaft supports by the valve on the first M670s. |
