located this tag on a MM RT, can someone explain what it means, MM RT100 3 5/8 x 44 CYL EF, serial #0174901675, thanx Dan

Dan,
That is the engine serial number tag for a 1949 RT tractor. It is a 4 cylinder model EE engine with 3-5/8 bore and 4 inch stroke. The tractor serial number tag is located on the RH side of the transmission housing.

Brian, tractor has been sitting outside for 20 plus yrs, with a loader, wide front, rear wheel weights, and a nice set of rear fenders, no rear pto. Just gathering a lil infor before I make the big decision as to buying it or not, thanx

Dan,
Wide front could be either an RTE (extendable wide front), RTS (standard) or RTI (industrial). If it has a foot clutch its an RTI. If it has 24" rear rims its an RTI.

Dan FYI the 017 is called the S/N prefix and designates a S/N for an EE engine. The 49 indicates 1949 model year and was only used in 48,49 and 50, the rest of the number is the S/N for that year. A prefix for RTE is 004, RTI is 005 and RTS is 002.
Sometime in 1950 they dropped the year info and S/Ns ran consecutive up til the end of production of that model.
