Engine Block

I have a B F Avery A tractor that has a cracked block. I am trying to find out who manufactured the engine for this A tractor. These are the numbers that are found on the engine serial plate-Top row: 15 Second row: IXB3 Third row: 3.25 x 4 x 4; Fourth row: 2409552 Serial Number; Last row: 008-006. Any help will be appreciated.

you have a hercules engine model IXB3. the 3.25 x4 is bore and stroke then the serial number of that engine. the last is the valve clearences. if you look on the right side towards the front right above the oil pan there are cast in numbers. that will tell you the year of the engine aswell. i have a few of these blocks if you are needing one.

BF Parts: Where are you located? I am checking to see what my options might be: 1) A good running engine 2) a complete long block 3) a short block 4) just a block. Looking forward to hearing from you.

i have just a bare block right now. i have about all the parts besides rods and pistons to put it back together. good running engines are hard to locate any more by themselves. i live in southern indiana but i do alot of traveling around the midwest.
