Moline RTE timing gear?????

I have a 48 RTE with the EE engine. Can the timing gear on the front of the crankshaft be changed without pulling the crank out of the block? Does anyone have one of these gears?

You would have to remove bront bearing to get at timing gear. I would imagine it tough to get off crankshaft. Any timing gear used on Z or ZA with 30 teeth would work. Frontend would have to also come off to give room to work.

Well, Actually you have to get the crank out of the engine and it only comes out the rear of the block. So by then you have the jugs and pistons off and its a dandy time to think about rings and crank bearings.
Then you have to get the front main bearing race off the crank and then pull the gear.

When I did it to my '48 RTU I used a gear from a ZT/RE engine.
