I am wanting to get the blocks back on my 705 propane tomorrow. It has been a horrible summer and just now getting back with it. Anyhow I was looking at the oil tubes that go through the blocks down to the crankcase the ones that take oil up to the rockers. One of them had a solid steel rod in it. What on earth is that for??? I do not recall which one it come off of either. I sure want to know what it is for and how critical it is. Thanks. Richard

Thanks for letting me know. I am pretty sure I only have the one but I will check in the parts washer to make sure. Can I make one out of cold rold rod? If not of course I will get them from salvage.

Yes that is what they are, there's no reason you couldn't make one out of round stock. All they do is slow the flow of oil to the rockers.

That is good to know. I was glad to see that I do have all three. They do look easy to make if needed. The end that seats could be done on grinder fairly well.
