I apologize for being accusatory, you did not say those things. What lit my fire was the first comment, "you'll spend twice as much for half the power" that statement is not true. I was not arguing against your main point however. Re-read my posts, I agreed 100% that gas or LP would have more HP per dollar spent, and would be a lot easier to do. You ask if my advice to build a diesel is good advice when he will get beat by a gas engine. My question then is, since the class I run is dominated by a big cube Farmall M, should we all build one of those? My advice was an encouragement to be different, and I said if the guy wants 1st place trophies, build a big cube MM gas or LP, build a big cube Farmall M, build a glider out of bed sheets and popsicle sticks and sail off over the grand canyon, whatever he wants to do. There has been quite a bit of discussion on diesels lately, and the negative talk has gotten to me I guess. I apologize for ranting...I just hate to see guys scared off from doing something different by negative comments and false information. And NO I'm not accusing anyone of those things but what I've found in building my big cube diesel, is the lack of honest answers by certain people who are supposed to be "in the know".
