I"m looking to make a 5-star with a 336 diesel into direct injection. Does anyone know what could possibly work? My ideas are: machining Case heads to fit or taking lp heads and machining the spark plug holes to fit injectors or would the compression be too low? Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

| Thanks for your advice. I guess I will work with what I have. I put a turbo on a G707 diesel and it works pretty good. I might do the same to the 5-Star. Do you think an in-line pump will work? |

| Moline made a few with an inline pump but I don't know how hard those are to find. A Roosa Master with a 450 head will give you plenty of fuel. The next step is an A pump off of a Case engine but you will need to adapt it for mounting and something for the drive gear. |

| I know of a couple people who have made the conversion, one of which is a 5 star with a turbo that runs really well and one is a G-1000. In both cases, a LOT of time and money was invested in designing and making their respective set-up work. With that being said, with the two people I know of, it is a closely guarded secret I"m sorry to say. I have a UB diesel with indirect injection and I"m competitive in 5500 to 6500 lbs 4 MPH classes, but my fuel system isn"t the only thing I"ve worked on. A reground cam and a performance fuel system will help greatly. |
