I have been reading old posts about the original bullet mufflers for Molines and have come to the conclusion that no one is making reproductions. Has anyone tried a resonator type muffler? Or does anyone know exactly what the guts of those original mufflers look like? I just cant bring myself to put some off the shelf farm store muffler on. Any insight on this is appreciated. |

Byron Miller out of IL was making some out of stainless. I dont know what he was using for baffeling but the outsides looked nice. I have some good used ones that I have been selling on ebay. I still have a few left. They bring a hundred on up to one hundred fifty depending on how nice they are. Give me a call if you want one of them. 308-940-0255 Jeff Gravert

The insides of a bullet muffler is a 'zig zag' honeycomb baffel assembly. I tried to punch thru one yrs ago , it was in better shape that I thought. Did not get it done. The 'honeycomb is thru almost the length of the muffler. clint

I would try asking on here if some one has an extra for sale, used or New . Never can tell till you ask . Yes, there are a few new originals out there. Try a salvage yd. I have found good ones and poor ones over the yrs. I prefer an old rusty one to a new 'Farm Store 'one. Mite try Pete Little at Walnut Ks. His brother. had some made before he passed. clint

Oren Schmidt from Homestead Iowa was making them. Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago, and we lost an incredible wealth of MM knowledge and skill.

Yes, and his work looked very good. I tried emailing Matt and message was returned because email is no longer valid. If anyone else knows how to get in contact with him let me know. I believe he's in the Jordan, MN area. Thanks
