I have a star with the Ensign system - it starts and runs good but when you open the vapor valve on the thank you can hear gas flooding the carb -- I know grandpa had her catch fire at one time- dont know what he did to it after the fact. My 670has the impco and you crack the valve and it basically fills lines and stops the gas. What are my options for replacing the regulator or updating -- or is it a carb issue - I know nothing about the system. Also the powersteering valve leakes really bad - where can I get parts for either of these pieces? Grandpa was a MM man but kinda hated the 5 star and never helped her out-- I think he felt that he was betrayed cause his next jump was to a 4020 and 1850 - but they dont have much over a similar MM - but I know he felt as though after that the MM was inferior. |

| you could add an electric shutoff made for propane. it is wired to only let gas through when the key is on. IMPCO makes a vacuum shutoff with filter, only lets gas through when vacuum is applied, same as the BEAM 120 regulator and your Ensign. |

| Look for a Impco-Beam regulator, probably a 120 as they have the capability of being used with the Ensign carb. They have the idle circuits in the regulator. That is unless you want to change the carb also. The standard Impco regulators have to be used with a Impco carb. Someone was selling the rubber parts for a Ensign regulator but I don't know if they are available any more.

| | Sounds like the evaporator needs to be rebuilt (or replaced). If it was a Century, it is an easy kit to install. Marty |
