I am getting very close to finishing my utu. I am iffy on what colors the starter, generator, lights, distrubor, coil, and radiator cap are. I have seen them black and prarie gold. Also the rear wheels. I know the cast center part is cherry red but is the hub it self with the clamp red or gold. |

| I agree with BMG1, I have done some reshearch for my utn and also bought some sales brochures ( for pic's) of that time frame and it appears all of tractor encluding starter and genny and wheel hubs are P.G. lights are black, wheel cast cherry red, rims a shade of silver. Radiator cap some were left metal and some are painted P.G. I think on mine I will go P.G. cap on black radiator. Best, Tony |

| By the way my old radiator repairman said only use chassis black on radiator as it conducts heat the best. Don't know if thats true. |

| Mine is a 51. I can't decide what to do right now I have everything painted gold but got to second guessing myself. My hubs were yellow before I blasted them but the tractor was also cat yellow so I didn't trust the previous owners paint sceme. |

| | I'll give you my opinion. Color of accessories depends on the year of your UTU. Very early models that did not come with electrical equipment from the factory typically have black accessories since these were a kit installed by the dealer. I've seen pictures of U's on the production line prior to the rear wheel centers being installed and everything was prairie gold - starter, generator, distributor, coil, rear wheel hubs. I'm not sure on the radiator cap but typically the lights were black. I've never seen one with yellow lights. Brian |
