Hey fellas,
I love the cheap horsepower and look of the old brown Jet Star. It was simple, light, peppy, powerful, and different. The beefy UTX was also pretty cool. It looked like a 6cylinder UDLX.
What's your favorite MM model of all?

Ethan

I like 6 cylinder diesel engines, and I like FWA. I think the G708 had the nicest color scheme, so its my choice.

I like the "tough" wheatland look of the GVI, because as a kid, I watched a neighbor with his parade of small LA Cases & JD Ds with one way plows making the rounds.

When the GVI came along, it looked like a monster compared to those earlier tractors...

445 Utility. We bought a new one in 1957 when I was 12 and used it until the mid 70"s when my dad sold his place. He sold it and in the early 2000"s it was still going. It had over 12,000 hrs when my dad sold it. I bought one to restore in 2007 and am still working on it. Runs great but needs paint yet. I love the style. To me it has never been equaled.

I know this was my dad's favorite. MM U302 super. Only tractor he ever purchased brand new and said many times in later years that this tractor paid for itself many times. The pic is the day he took delivery of it, with him are my two older brothers.

HHmmmmm.....I like them all..but M670 Super, G950, top the list. Didnt really think much of a G1000Vista...UNTIL I sat on one. REALLY fond of any from 1966 on....That was back when competition and style in tractors mattered....

#1 G1000 Vista. Great styling and usable power.
#2 M670 Super. The tractor I spend 500 hours a year using and the one Dad bought new in '68.
#3 G706. Puts the power to the ground and fun to drive.
To be honest I like them all, especially the styling of the 335 445 4 Star Jet Star 5 Star, but If I had to sell all but one I'd keep the M670 Super or the Jet Star diesel.

Grew up with U's and 708. I thought the 708 was awsome-but now that I am older I sure appreciate the U-and how easy it it to work on.

Wouldn't mind finding the old 708 too but it was traded in on a 4020 in 1971...paper trail gone cold.

The U model gassers....no other MM tractor as widely accepted and used in it's time. The U stood toe to toe with it's competition which was very heavy...The Farmall M's, the John Deere A's and G's, The Oliver 77's and 88's, the Allis-Chalmers WD's and WD-45's, The Massey 33's and 44's, the Co-op's and Cockstutts and a bunch of off breed 3 plow tractors....all doing the major share of the farming work in this country in that time frame. The 'ole U's were right there with the other big boys.

Everyone is going to have a different answer here! For a bigger tractor, I like my 950 diesel, the UB gas is a tough tractor, just right for most every job around the farm. and then my '45 ZTU is fun to pull a 2 bottom plow with. Ask me this question next week, I'd have a different answer.

Well I cant say as if I have just one! For the bigger jobs I would have to say the Vista just because you sit up and can see so good and for the small odds and ends jobs I like the jet star 3 diesel I have it is just a nice easy driving tractor thats handy for all kinds of jobs.

I'm with Brian on this, the UB special diesel is a very cool tractor. We just got one last summer and I'm in the process of restoring it. My great-grandpa's UB diesel is next on my list! The one I really want though is a G-1350 with no cab and original fenders.

I'm with Pete on this one. Granddaddy bought a '54 ZBU new and I grew up with it. I learned to drive on it.

Even though we have more modern tractors on the place-Jetstar, 335 and larger tractors-UTS, M5, and more nimble tractors-BG, Farmall Cub, Its still the 'main' power on the place.

Five Star, 1st runner up either G708 or G1000 Vista. If it must be older, the KTA. If money/most value or wow factor was the objective and didn't need to buy it, no surprise the UDLX.
