G 706 moline question

I just picked up a G 706 moline without front wheel assist, the serial number plate has G 706 on it. The tractor was bought new by the same owner. Did any g 706 get manufactered this way. thank for any help

My family bought one new and they had the dealer remove the FWA to lower the cost.

when growing up there was one in our area and the guy took it off because he had some issues with it. I know it went (the axle) to a bone yard if only you would have told me ! LOL
