MOLINE DIESEL

I HAVE A 425 CID IN MY MOLINE NOW , A FEW OLD TIMERS ARE TELLING ME THAT THEY MADE SOME POWER UNITS THAT WERE DIESEL AND THE CUBIC INCH WAS ALOT BIGGER , SO WHAT INFO DOES ANYONE HAVE ON THIS SUBJECT ? THANKS

There should be some 504 diesel power units. The biggest diesel engine made by MM was a 585, but I don't think that would easily bolt to your flywheel. An HD 800 engine would right up to your GBD flywheel. Then you would no longer have a diesel though. There are lots of GBD's and GVI's with the 800 engines.

MM Diesel is right there should be a 504 diesel power unit or at least a 504 from a G705, etc. The 585 will bolt up to the "small" bell housing MM's but not the big ones like the "G" series. The biggest factory CID diesel there was the 504. LoneWolf, I'm sorry but I'm not familiar with your tractor, what do you pull? I've got 425 in a 4 banger diesel.

They made a handful (5) diesel 605 power units in 1955. I bet they're impossible to find and probably had issues since only 5 were made.

My dad always claimed that MM made a 605 diesel power unit. Now you comfirmed it. Is there any literature or anything from MM, or how did you know about it? Thanks Brian

I wouldn't say I "confirmed" it. Only that its listed in the serial number lists for 1955 only 09400001-09400005. I've never personally seen one. I heard Moline experimented with a diesel 403 also but apparently it made as much power as the G900 and durability was questionable.
