mounting quick disconnect couplers (pioneer fittings) on UTU

Making the old '49 UTU more useful with hydraulic remote hookups out back. It's had the Uni-matic hydraulic system all along. I have all the parts needed. including a pilot operated check valve, except the hoses and related fittings. It's fun thinking of where to place everything without getting in the way of the controls and arms and legs while keeping the original system intact. I have the cushioned chair type seat without a suspension and the brake pedals on both sides of the platform.

Curious how you have or would have routed and placed your hoses and fittings. I have a few ideas in my head.

Should I mount the quick release bracket to the seat bar? Under your rear seems the optimal location compared to other tractors, but I'm concerned if the QD would fail in a unhitched emergency and the hoses on the implement would become a cable, causing seat and operator removal. Is that a valid concern or is lightning more likely to strike?

The goal is also to not drill any holes in the tractor.

I have a picture of the original set up Ill post in a bit....They had a bracket that bolts on by the pto.

On the 1949 to mid 51 models MM used a support bracket that mounted under the main seat mounting bolt. When the flote-ride seats came out they mounted an "L" shaped bracket on the same hole as the junction block where the hoses screw in and used a shorter bracket. The reason for the change was that the first brackets didnt "swivel" when you turned a corner and the coupler would come out of the holder. The later ones moved when you turned. MM used "Bruning" brand couplers which were a little different than pioneer, (you've probably seen pictures in an operators manual) They were a 3 piece coupler, 2 male ends and a connector sleeve. The one pictured is the late style bracket. NOT that Im trying to sell you one but I make reproduction brackets of each style. If you send me your email I can send you a picture of them.

I just removed the quick connects from my ZA. They were mounted each to a little bracket bolted to the front facing diagonal section of the Knoedler seat bracket, which is identical to the seat in the picture posted. The hoses were long enough to allow the seat assembly to move back and forth. Interestingly, there was no check valve installed so I'm not sure how the remotes could have powered a standard cylinder.
