Hey everyone, I am restoring a 1946 ZTU, I am working on getting the clutch back together, and realized the asbestos brake disk was worn through so it needs to be replaced. What are you guys using as a sub for this? any help would be really appreciated

1964Deere,
To reline the clutch, you throw away the entire toothed plate and linings and drop in a #JT9109 clutch. The new clutch is a one piece affair and it solves a load of wear and noise problems. The new style clutch came around right after the second world war.

I think what 1964Deere is referring to is the brake on the clutch. When clutch lever is pulled back there is a brake to stop rotation of shaft.

Molinegb,
You are correct. Thats what happens when you work twelve hour night shifts and try to give coherent answers.

Those brake discs are also a stock item too. We did not get them on the website yet. The webmaster is almost as sleep deprived as me. Just make sure you take a can of degreaser to the brake area before installing the new disc.

Take care.

So i am understanding you sell them? Can you get me your stores contact information so i can get ahold of you and order one?

I tried sending him an email and never heard a response back. Does it usually take a few days for a response or did by chance the email address change?
