Massey Ferguson 95 Super,same as which MM Tractor

I'm looking at a Massey Ferguson 95 Super S# 17300549.......would someone know the year it was made? The ENGINE BLOCK has MM 10A14513 CAST INTO it. What is a MM GVI Engine? What is a MM G engine? So what engine does this tractor have? When I'm searching for parts what MM tractor is the same other than the badgging / tin. MM 1000? MM705?

Bob,
You're looking at a 1960 model. It is the same as the MM GVI. The engine will have its own serial number tag and it should be a D425 model engine. If the engine has a large 4" exhaust pipe it may have been internally upgraded to a 504. This was a common upgrade back in the day by installing larger cylinders/pistons and exhaust from the later 504 engine.

The MM G engine was a 4 cyl 403 cu in disp. As noted above the GVI engine is a 6 cyl 425 cu in disp. The MM G705/6 is the same as a MF 97 tractor. and The MM G1000 is a later tractor that had the 504 cu in engine in it.

According to the serial # you posted, your tractor is similar to the GVI diesel. The Massey 95 was similar to a GB diesel. If you have a 425 engine, the pistons (4.25" bore), could come from a stock GVI, GBD, or UB diesel. The heads, rods, etc should be interchangeable for most MM diesels. For a 504 engine, the pistons are (4.625"), and could come from a 5 star diesel, M5, M602, M670, G705, G1000, or G1050. The G900, G950, and G955 used a 4.375" piston for 451 cubic inch engine. All the above tractors had a 5 inch crankshaft. Most 6 cylinder camshafts should work in yur tractor. Though many diesel parts would fit in the engine, the GVI parts should be the closest fit.
