I went and looked at a 1964 MM Jet Star 3 in the dark it looked grate for an origonal tractor in good shape I did not heer it run but I spun the steering wheel engen off and it would not even act like it would try to tern the tires the guy said it works fine when it is running where all of them like that or just the early ones I have herd of some like that that lead to interesting rides when it quits going down hill it has the touq Amplfire it dont snap in like the one on grandpas Jet star II are they ajustabel also was there supost to be a white stripe pice of sheet metal acros the grill on there it looked like there was one across the top of the grill and they took it off and put a set of head lights in there witch is not right it has the light brackets on the side of the sheet metal for the pipe style any thing els I should look for if I get to go back and see it run would it have more pulling power than the Jet Star 2 or about the same

My JS3 would steer real hard w/out running engine. Much like a modern car with P/S. This is NOT a mechanical link to steering and uses just hydraulics to connect. Running it should be fine. Mine had those lights in the rear side covers. I didn't put them back on when rebuilding, they are in poor place to see much, specially when you put on a loader like I did. I ended up putting on the flat top fenders with lights in them, much nicer!

Our 880 and 1755 olivers have the hyrostatic steering and they will steer hard not running if it is rolling abit we had to take the lights off the Jet Star 2 when we put the loader on and have not put any thing back I would like to have the flat top fenders on there I think it realy makes them look good and safer All my tractors at home have fenders and I always seem to have a hand on there holding on if I am not moving a lever or something and I have ran a IH M that did not have them and I got hit by about 3 or 4 lugs befor I got my hand back out of the tire I am going to hope they dont sell it befor I can get time to look at it and see it run dang 7-4:30 job gets in the way no time after work in the day light
thanks Thomas

When I got my Js3 it was like that. It had been sitting a while and all the fluid had drained out of the steering control valve. After I got it back together and running it has never done that again. (except for now maybe, its been in the shed and at least 2-3 years since it ran.)
